Welcome to Baruk Labs. These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our websites, applications and services, including Baruk for Chrome and Baruk Watchman (together, the "Services"). The Services are provided by Baruk Labs ("Baruk Labs", "we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account, installing our software, or otherwise using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

1. Who may use the Services

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account or purchase a subscription. Families are welcome to use the Services in the home, but the account holder is responsible for the account and for any minors' use of it. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your login credentials secure.

2. What the Services do

The Services help you filter profanity, blasphemy, and explicit or sexual content from video you stream through your own third-party streaming subscriptions. Baruk works by following a show's subtitle timeline and muting or skipping flagged moments as the show plays.

The Services are a filtering aid, not a content provider. They require you to have your own lawful access to the content you wish to filter (for example, a valid Netflix, Prime Video, or similar subscription). We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any streaming service, and all third-party names and trademarks belong to their respective owners.

3. Filtering is not perfect

Content filtering depends on the accuracy and availability of subtitle data and on staying in sync with playback. Because of this, the Services may occasionally miss content that should be filtered, or filter content that you would have allowed. The Services are provided as an aid to your own discretion and are not a substitute for parental supervision or your own judgement. We do not warrant that filtering will be complete, uninterrupted, or error-free.

4. Accounts and acceptable use

You agree not to: (a) use the Services for any unlawful purpose; (b) copy, record, redistribute, or create a fixed copy of any filtered video content; (c) attempt to circumvent, disable, or reverse-engineer the Services except to the extent permitted by law; (d) resell or commercially exploit the Services without our written permission; or (e) interfere with the security or integrity of the Services. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Third-party services

The Services rely on third parties, including subtitle providers, authentication providers, cloud hosting, and payment processing. Your use of streaming services and other third-party products is governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party services and do not guarantee their availability.

6. Subscriptions, billing, and our reseller

Some features require a paid subscription. Our order process and payments are conducted by our online reseller, Paddle.com, which is the Merchant of Record for all purchases. Paddle handles payment, billing enquiries, and applicable taxes, and will appear on your billing statement.

• Paid subscriptions renew automatically for the same period until cancelled.
• Prices are shown at checkout and may be subject to applicable taxes collected by Paddle.
• We may change subscription prices; changes apply to renewals after reasonable notice.
• You can cancel at any time; your access continues until the end of the paid period.

Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

7. Intellectual property

The Services, including our software, branding, and the filter data we generate, are owned by Baruk Labs and protected by law. To protect copyright and respect content owners, we store only derived filtering data (such as timing and flagged-word markers) and never store or redistribute subtitle text or video. Any subtitles or files you supply remain your responsibility and stay in your own storage.

8. Disclaimers

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Services will meet your requirements or operate without interruption or error.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Baruk Labs will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Services. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Services will not exceed the amount you paid us for the Services in the twelve months before the claim.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Baruk Labs harmless from any claims arising out of your misuse of the Services or your breach of these Terms.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Services at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the Services. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will do so.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You agree to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights available to you where you live.
